The platform speech has long been the most challenging task of public speakers. In this two day camp, you will spend the first day taking your speech idea and wrestling it into a powerful and well-crafted written speech. The writing process of platforms often derails the future speech; are you writing a research paper or words to be delivered live? Our coaches will walk you through the writing process. All you need to bring with you is your idea for a speech along with some selected and credible references (support material), and an outline of your idea for the speech.
You will be expected to write during the camp, to have your computer available for further research, and the willingness to push yourself to stay on task. While we do not expect you will write a finished and polished speech at camp, we do believe with serious effort you can proceed through a huge part of the journey toward a finished speech.
Day two will focus on performance and how understanding performance will lead to required edits of written material. Giving a platform speech is a labor of love, and we want to help you understand the journey and relish the process that leads to a great result.
This camp is recommended for ages 16 and up. Younger students may attend with a participating parent.

Returns are available until 2 weeks prior to the start date of camp. After two weeks prior to the start date of camp the fees are not refundable. We hire and pay coaches who charge a set fee for the camp. We must pay them regardless of cancellations, so please understand your commitment to attend camp. Thank you!
